NASDAQ NABS MARIE FOR NETWORKS
Phil Marie has been appointed senior vice president of network and Web operations for Nasdaq, reporting to CIO Steve Randich. Marie will handle the operations of the Nasdaq network infrastructure and the nasdaq.com Web site. Prior to joining Nasdaq, Marie was vice president of network operations and support for Galileo International, where he installed all network customers and managed data centers.
TAMESIS TAPS BENSON FOR BOARD DIRECTORSHIP
Tamesis, a risk and trading systems vendor, has appointed Robert Benson as board director. Benson, a 13-year veteran of HSBC, set up an equity derivatives trading operation, was the head of a specialized derivatives group, and ran the global FX options team and retail products group, with a focus on structured products. At Tamesis, Benson will work with the executive directors and senior management of the company to guide current operations with specific emphasis on the overall development strategy and positioning of Tamesis products.
ARCA’S CORMACK ADVISES TRANSACTTOOLS
Mike Cormack, the president of Archipelago, has joined the Transacttools Advisory Board. Archipelago was the first customer of connectivity-testing vendor Transacttools. Prior to joining Archipelago, Cormack co-chaired the FIX Steering Committee and managed domestic equity trading at American Century Investments.
LUSSI LEAVES CLEARSTREAM
Clearstream and its former President and CEO Andre Lussi--a 13-year veteran architect of the modern Clearstream--have reached agreement to end their relationship with mutual consent. Details of the agreement were withheld. Clearstream suspended Lussi in May following inquiries into money laundering by the Luxembourg authorities. Andre Roelants took over as interim CEO in May and was formally appointed CEO in July.
INTEROUTE HIRES US SALES SVP
Telecom firm and fiber-optic network provider Interoute has appointed Les Hankinson senior vice president of sales and marketing to lead the firm’s US efforts. His responsibilities will include all US sales activities and building a local sales team.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, he will report to Alan Lowe, CEO of Interoute’s Futurecom division. Hankinson previously held same role at optical connectivity provider Fibernet.
